Originality Acheived!

So it took me a few hours, but I am finally satisfied (for now at least) with the new layout of the page. It's quite dark as compared to the previous page, but it has a bit more personality to it. I may change the color, who knows. Let me know how it looks, and please let me know if there are any kinks!

Thanks!

  1. I like dark backgrounds. I find it restful on the eyes. What's with the fishies? I like the rainbow effect. Watch my blog because I have a bit of rainbow love coming up in the next couple of days.

  2. Oh wow, it is different, you've done some hard work. I am glad you kept the fish, I like them very much... the vine running down the side does it for me too, I'd love a tutorial on how to do that!

  4. Thanks folks! Glad you like it!

Hazel, do the fishies look weird for you? I put a wintery background behind them since Christmas is fast approaching.

Ali, pretty much, I just did some stock photo searching and looked for images that would look nice tiled vertically. So pretty much I just spent a bit of time with the images in my "paint" program and thanks to alot of cutting and pasting, I just pasted two images on either side of a black background. If you have any questions about it, just let me know!

  5. That's really clever GG, did you have to write the html code to get it to run down the outer margins like that?

  6. Nope! I just created an image that could be tiled vertically and it did it for me. I did that in the blog template editor on blogger. Where it lets you edit the background, I chose to add my own image and then once it was loaded, I was given the option to tile the photo vertically. It just took a few trial runs to get it right to make sure that the colors on the rainbow matched up when tiled and that the vines started and ended at a black space. I could always do a quick post describing how I did that if you'd like!

  7. Ahh, thanks GG... my blog doesn't work like that because I have an old template, the template designer page just comes up as "not applicable to this template", so I have to do things from scratch and edit the html. Usually there are tutorials on the net though, so I might give it a go!
